School sytstem

Feb 25th 2008
I was just talking to my best friend. :-)  He is married and has a stepson; the kid is around 12; I have never met him but I do not need to, my friend loves him and that is plenty for me.  I did not care to get married or have children of my own -awkward on a woman- but I just do not have any faith in mankind to bring myself to risk having a child:-|

Anyway, we were talking about the school system and the world in general:  Child-molesting priests that seem to operate with the conscent of the Church (ANY church, not just the catholic one); wildlife sanctuaries that are being threaten to dissapear so that the president and his buddies can have real-nice condos, and a school system that just do not care and is not allowed to improve itself.  Somehow seems that children have to study in a very socratic way: "Man, it's YOUR business to learn, I do not care if I am a teacher, I am not here to teach you, just to babysit you" >:-[.  hahahaha and yet he still believes.  He believes that the world can be a better place, that mankind is basically good and that every single thing that goes wrong can not be blamed on it being bad, just...misoriented...

But you see, the truth is other.  Mankind seems NOT to be good unless we are subjected to chaotic scenarios: Tsunamis and Earthquakes.  and even THEN there is something terribly wrong! I fyou pay enough attention to your surroundings you can see in the after-aftermath of such terrible catastrophes that in most of the grocery stores you will be able to buy the food assistance sent by other countries!  It happened in Katrina, the Tsunami, and every other earthqyake and natural disaster... does that mean that we are basically good?

How come we can not focus on the good things in life or devote ourselves on doing precisely the small things that we are supposed to so that this world is a better place than it was when we first arrived?

I am saddened to see my reflection on the mirror.  Each day I see a person that is more"aware" that mankind is devoting itself to destruction, chaos and murder rather than to peace, love and understanding.  I was reading that Kansas or Kentuchy there is the posibility to ban obese people from restaurants.  What is that about? Big people regardless of their age and sex are always on the sight for criticism and segregation, the teen years are not the most harsh years in human development but to add that your parents or yourself are banned from McDonalds or whatever restaurant is ridiculous! That is only adding gunpowder to the mental bomb of an already unstable teenager.  If they decide to pass this law, do not be astounded to see more and more gunfire at schools.

Is it that politicians are devoting themselves to make money?  :-? what do they know that we don't? maybe they believe that if they accumulate enough amounts of money they can cheat their way out of death or hell.  But do we believe they can or can they actually do it? But believing they can will definitely mean that we do not believe in Supreme Justice and that there is no God watching over us.  Then what would be the point of ethics and morals? Maybe that is what is happening in the daily world...

Are we loosing moral and ethical values? Do we believe that God has abandoned us? There are songs that seem to say HE did.  for others the new Pope is a clear sign of chaos and death to come, but we could not expect JPII to last forever...  :-X

This are just coffee ramblings.  I will ramble some more next time.
